Her entrepreneurial skills have ensured that she looks after her children well
SAROJINI DEVI, UTTAR PRADESH
An annual event that most would just ignore, one day caught Sarojini Devi’s eye. Since her village is located between Deogarh and Sultanganj, the Kawaria groups pass every year through her village in the monsoon months. A widow with two children and no steady income, Sarojini Devi decided to start stitching and selling shirts and pants for Kawarias passing her village. But being untrained, Sarojini Devi could not match up to the expectations and her business idea almost failed.
That was before she enrolled for the USHA Silai School program. Once she finished her course, there’s been no looking back for Sarojini Devi. She not only improved her own sewing skills, she’s trained more than 100 women too.
Today, Sarojini Devi with her great business sense and entrepreneurial skills has purchased high end Allure sewing machines to meet the increasing work load.
