Ambika lives with her parents and 3 younger sisters, as her parents are very old they are unable to work in farms. Struggling for survival and coming from poor economic conditions, Ambika stopped her education midway and started working to earn livelihood.

Post her 7 days training with USHA Silai school, she opened her own school and started with stitching of women garments and alteration and of old clothes.

Since many of her learners are coming from very poor family, she decided to train them free of cost considering that financial crisis should not be a hurdle for them in learning sewing skills. Some of her passed out learners are working in garments factories at Bengaluru. They are very thankful to her for training them free of cost and bringing positive change in their lives
