Housewife to Entrepreneur: This is Meera’s story
MEERA MAURYA, PORT BLAIR, ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR
Meera Maurya recently held an exhibition of all the garments she had stitched. The exhibition set up the administration also showcased the work done by women she had trained under the USHA Silai School Program. With the success of the exhibition came a huge boost in confidence in the otherwise shy housewife.
Meera met the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and spoke of the USHA Silai School Program and marketing constraints in the island. Her new sense of entrepreneurship has earned her recognition and respect.
Meerahas trained more than 80 women and at present training 20 others. She wants to continue being associated with USHA Silai School Program, so that she can pass the sewing skills to large number of people in her area.
