Adopt A Silai School – Empower Women in Rural India
Every day thousands of women in remote villages of India are teaching and learning to sew, and with this skill, are changing their lives and destinies. If you are an individual donor and believe in the cause of socio-economic empowerment of rural Indian women, be a part of this amazing journey of empowering women, with a few simple steps:
Your support of INR 22,000 will be used to set up and run an USHA Silai School in a rural area. This includes all expenses that go into the training of 1 woman over a period of 9 days. The woman will be provided with a start-up kit consisting of a foot operated USHA Sewing Machine, sewing and stitching syllabus in vernacular, training material, a service manual, a certificate, an USHA Silai School signage and hand-holding support for a year.
The NGO partner working for Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli is Blind People’s Association (BPA), and for Bihar and Jharkhand is Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK).
For adopting a USHA Silai School, funds are directly paid through the payment gateways of our NGO partners. This means that the money straight away reaches the people working on the ground.
You can contribute by adopting more than one Silai School and change their lives for the better.
- Within 10 days of fund transfer you will receive
- Profile of the Women Entrepreneur starting the USHA Silai School/s with photographs and other details
- Details of the training and timelines.
- An intimation about 7 days before the training starts, in case you are interested in seeing the training.
- A mail after one month of Silai School set up with photographs. This will contain photographs of woman with Silai school signage, machine, syllabus, learners, with a little brief about her training.
- Two mails reporting her progress at the end of 6 months and 1 year.
- At least one visit to the Silai School/s on your own expenseto interact with the Woman Entrepreneur if requested.
- A tax exemption certificate may be given by the NGO.
Through email correspondence, we will keep you updated on the progress of the woman entrepreneur.
An USHA Silai School is set up within 90 days after a woman entrepreneur is trained for 9 days.
